Phew! We reached 200 premieres, peeps! What a great landmark! So many cool labels and amazing artists were featured so far… and lots more to come because we have no intention to stop doing it, baby!

The 200th comes straight from our dear Argentina: Bit Marten lands once again on the promising and prolific Maleza with an interesting and eclectic EP. Featuring House, Indie Dance, Nu Disco, and Electro references, “The Slider” is made up of five refreshing tracks divided into three well-crafted originals and two insightful remixes provided by Argentinian DJ Braver and Spanish Daytona. We chose the latter’s contribution to review, by the way.

Daytona is a Barcelona-based musician with a solid string of releases on the acclaimed German label Emerald & Doreen. For his first appearance on Maleza, he delivered an extremely alluring interpretation of the title track: His “Funk It” remix, with its Stardust’s “Music Sounds Better With You” sample pattern, brought a Disco-ish aura to the original. As you must be aware, dinosaurs are famous for loving Disco Music – this explains why we treasured this remix very much!
