869 // Oltrefuturo – Luce

Various Artists 002 lands on Estuary Tapes. Oltrefuturo joins the lineup.

Estuary Tapes returns with the second volume in its various artists series. Séraphine de Tremblay, Anna vs June, Pako Vega, MR TC, The Dude of Stratosphear, Linja, Oltrefuturo, Anatolian Weapons, and Sequence of Events, just to name a few, navigate territory that shifts between ambient drift, kraut-inflected pulse, and dubwise texture. No single mood dominates – each contributor works from their own coordinates, yet the collection holds together through an unspoken understanding of pace and space. These are tracks built for headphones at 3 am or the floor just before the lights come up, music that reveals itself slowly and rewards attention. A label continuing to build something worth following.

Premiered here, “Luce” represents one of two contributions from Italy’s Oltrefuturo, this one a solo flight alongside a separate collaboration with French producer tabensi. The track moves at a downbeat crawl, trading momentum for atmosphere as darkness infuses every layer – not theatrical, but the quiet weight of a room at low light. Textures emerge with the grain of aged film stock, evoking the Dust Brothers at their most cinematic: beats that breathe like sampled ghosts, melodies that decay rather than resolve. A piece built for late-night listening and empty spaces, a reminder that beauty often arrives cloaked in shadow.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
