Moscow’s Alexander Klygin aka Ruksby lands on the Guatemalan imprint DMNSNL with “Goyim Naches,” a four-track parcel, featuring two original cuts that sit alongside remixes from the label’s founders, Jorge Galindo and Dario. The EP moves through EBM rigidity and Darkwave shadow, with a steady, gloomy pulse. Ruksby has a feel for tension – mechanical but never stiff, dark but never theatrical.
Premiered here, the title “Tanai Trip” translates to something like “Traveler on the Road,” fitting for a track that walks a fine line between menace and motion. The 100-BPM pace keeps things locked in a slow, heavy stride. A sturdy bassline anchors the whole affair – thick, unwavering, built for dark rooms. Synth leads and layers drift above, adding a cold, shimmering texture. Percussive elements snap and shuffle underneath, pushing the groove into gothic territory.
