916 // My Secret Playground – Just A Kiss (Jo Kazan Remix)

My Secret Playground and Jo Kazan join forces on Burning Synths. The result speaks for itself.

Vienna-born, Berlin-based producer Florian Herzberg has built My Secret Playground as a vehicle for his 1980s‑infused club sound. A string of releases on Voltaire Music, JEAHMON!, and Mélopée paved the way, and now he returns to Burning Synths with a second single in a row. “Just A Kiss” follows the footsteps of “Bipolar,” his previous outing for the Spanish label, carrying a Trance‑like drift, wrapped in layers of synth work and a steady, floor‑ready pulse. Herzberg knows how to balance nostalgia with a contemporary club edge, and this one fits that mould perfectly.

Barcelona’s Jo Kazan steps in for the remix, steering the original toward Progressive House territory. He strips away much of the Trance‑tinged float, pushing the bassline forward and into focus. The synth layers remain present, but their role shifts – they now support a more grounded, groove‑driven structure while the peak‑time energy holds, gaining a new kind of propulsion anchored by a rolling, confident rhythm. Kazan reworks the material without losing its core appeal. The result is a fresh, purposeful interpretation that complements Herzberg’s vision while adding a distinct signature of its own. A solid counterpart to the original, and a promising meeting of two producers on Burning Synths for the first time.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
