919 // Dan ChiCharron – Plastik Boy

Dan ChiCharron is back on DMNSNL with four pieces of peak‑time business.

Guatemala’s DMNSNL welcomes back Nantes-based artist Dan ChiCharron to its roster. Having previously appeared on Sinchi, Bonkers, and Kyma Komplex, the French producer likes his stuff acid and psychedelic. Leftfield and Techno references filled with a plethora of groove mark his signature sonority, and his latest four-track delivery, “Plastik Boy,” is no different, with hypnotic atmospheres, deep pads, and fractured vocal elements setting the tone. The EP moves through shades of darkness and light, never losing its grip on the floor.

Premiered here, the title track wraps a mysterious, upbeat aura in sharp synth work and a bouncing bassline. Distorted leads slice through the mix with a raw, unfiltered edge, while a cowbell‑like percussive layer adds a playful, almost tribal texture. The theme moves with a confident stride, its gait locking into a steady, recurring rotation. There’s a tension between the familiar and the strange, but the drive persists throughout. ChiCharron constructs a piece that feels alive, curious, and fully formed – a proper statement from a producer who consistently finds fresh angles in familiar territory. “Plastic Boy” is the kind of cut that rewards repeat listens, revealing new details with each pass.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
