Alesa DJ and Domingo Caballero join forces for their debut on Nubians of Plutonia Records, bringing together two artists with different routes through electronic music. Hailing from Alcoy, Alesa has built her reputation as a selector and producer with an ear for everything from Dark Disco and Electro to Techno, Indie Dance and Trance, while Ecuadorian-born Domingo Caballero has spent much of his career exploring the harder end of the spectrum. Their collaboration makes plenty of sense within the Nubians’ world, whose catalogue regularly slips between ProtoHouse, Italo Body Music, EBM, and Indie Dance. The resulting collaboration pairs the original with a remix by Roglar, offering two different takes on the same idea.

Premiered here, the title track wastes little time making its intentions clear, setting sharp synth lines against low‑end weight and tightly wound mechanical rhythms. There’s something deliciously physical about the combination, yet the stranger details are never buried beneath the surface. Those piercing textures and that deep, rumbling foundation give “La Pista” its peculiar character, with the machine‑like groove adding a mischievous tension to the mix. Rather than piling on layer after layer, Alesa and Domingo build their track around a handful of strong ideas, with subtle shifts keeping things interesting as it moves along. The result feels sleek, slightly menacing and undeniably playful, with those metallic edges adding a sly, unpredictable quality to the whole affair.
