938 // VIKTORIA – Get The Fa

VIKTORIA showcases her distinct production style with a playful new single, coming soon on Modula.

Upon turning heads with her splendid remix for After Roca’s “Código Secreto,” released on Logia Records last year, skilled Buenos Aires-based artist VIKTORIA lands on Modula with the single “Get the Fa,” a shut-up-and-dance cut featuring versions by DI.ROSA and PACHI.AP, hand-picked from the label’s recent Remix Contest (smart move, isn’t it?). The release marks a confident next step for the Argentine artist, who has spent the last few years quietly sharpening her production skills and carving out a distinct sound to call her own.

Premiered here, the title track sees VIKTORIA explore & exploit her House Music and Indie Dance influences, seasoning them with a pinch of funkiness, we dare say. The result is a heavy-grooved theme despite its minimalism when it comes to its elements. There is a pleasing economy to the arrangement, with each detail carrying enough weight to keep the track moving without cluttering the picture. The rhythm does most of the talking, while those funky touches give “Get the Fa” a slightly mischievous edge that keeps its dance-floor instincts from feeling predictable. Lean in construction yet generous in character, the track gets plenty done with relatively little, and that restraint makes its hookiness all the easier to appreciate.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
