Sunmantra is a live electronic unit hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia. Fusing their musical influences from Electro and Techno classics to post-punk, coldwave and shoegaze numbers, Bernardus Fritz, Jonathan Pardede and Omar Joesoef stamps their own takes on electronic music: a sound centred on performance and vibration.

Sunmantra’s captivating live performance has enabled them to secure slots on notable club nights in their hometown such as Dekadenz, Pon Your Tone and Sunset People Project, to name a few. In 2018 they’re headlining two of Indonesia’s biggest music festivals “Soundrenaline” and “Synchronize Fest” and close the year by opening slots for the Franz Ferdinand world tour “Always Ascending” at Potato Head Beach Club, Bali.

Sunmantra has releases on various labels such as Sinjitos Records, Yes No Wave, RDS Recordings, Dekadenz and Pon Your Tone for their collaboration with Bali-based Rockabilly act The Hydrant on “Trans Europe Ramblers”. Their latest EP (“ESOTERIC”) was released on Roam Recordings, San Francisco. In 2019, Sunmantra released their remix for Jason Peters’ track “Finding Space” on NEIN Records, UK.
