Compilations are always fun to browse. Especially when it features some favs among its selection of artists. It usually means the probability of finding a couple of gems gets definitely higher. In this particular circumstance, 10 out of 10: Marcus Christiansen, Mundo D, thePhilosophica (SXDNS307), Space Law, Myrddin (SXDNS277), Mon Cher Guy, Neurotiker, Zaratustra (SXDNS348), RotorMotor, and Elysian Underground spared no efforts to bring insightful cuts for the occasion. Coming soon on the rising & shining label Club Mackan, “A Retro Futuristic Collage” lives up to its name and presents in its multi-genre composition a savoury mixture of soundscapes such as Italo Disco, Indie Dance, Dark Disco, EBM, and Trance.

Premiered here, “Humanmorph” comes from the creative and non-stoppable mind of the promising Slovenian duo RotorMotor, whose previous failed-to-disappoint works were published on Kadett Music, Mélopée, and Club Mackan itself. For their return on the Swedish imprint, the lads decided to come in fast-and-furious mode and delivered a 130-BPM beast. But fear not, the atmosphere of their contribution to this splendid VA is nothing but frolic and upbeat with a bouncing bassline and a melodic theremin-like synth layer. The beast may not bite – but a lot of stamina is required to keep up with its pace.
