Blutch is back with another episode of his bold “Escaped Songs” series. With the concept of delivering “one song every two weeks for one year” (from November 1, 2023, to November 6, 2024, to be more precise), the French virtuoso brings to life the Volume 2 of his intrepid endeavour, this time with a pack full of melodic and progressive elements topped with a pinch of acid.

“Written between 2018 and 2023, some tracks were intended for the ‘Terre Promise’ album and were not kept for the final selection, not without difficulty. Very attached to these tracks but unable to include them in his other EPs released since or his future album, the idea came to him to share them warmly for a year, with this new bi-monthly rendezvous”, according to the press release.

Premiered here, “Otusi” is a deep and emotive theme with beautiful vocal hooks, heartwarming synth layers, graceful pads, and a compelling bassline. Listening to it out loud and – and on repeat, FYI – on the headphones was quite an experience. On a packed dance floor, it must be even more noteworthy.
