The European summer is finally coming to an end – Fortunately! It is too damn hot! But before the (blessed) cold season starts over, the prolific Citizens Of Vice has a last but not least sunny and breezy delivery: “I Need You” is the result of the collaboration between Portuguese virtuosos Ramboiage and C4STRO and comes packed with a refreshing last-days-of-sunshine atmosphere. On the remix duty, none other than Disco/Nu Disco wizards Pete Herbert, with a splendid take on the title track, and Gus Paterson, featuring not one but two revisions of the second act.

This is not Gus Paterson’s first rodeo on Citizens. His previous EPs, “Regole Di Terzi” and “Neritic”, turned the secretive London-based producer into one of the favourite artists of the acclaimed French label.

While Ramboiage & C4STRO’s original distils its magic through 122 BPM, on Gus’s hands “Do It Like That” now shines on delicious 116 and 119 beats per minute. Premiered here, the “Shake” interpretation comes with a more upbeat gait delivered by a frenzied concoction of piano and synth layers topped with frolic laser-like FXs.
