Everything happened too fast, according to eyewitnesses. The day was happening as uneventfully as it should at the Paisley Dark headquarters: fresh coffee on the table, emails filled with demos being checked, shy sunrays warming the cosy room… Then, suddenly, the peaceful moment was broken by a loud thud on the door. That was when three men stormed into the premises and said no one was going to be hurt if their wish was granted. There was nothing the Paisley crew could have possibly done besides succumbing to the authoritarianism of the invaders. They left with the guarantee their demands would be fulfilled.
Later that day, the menacing trio was identified as part of a Swedish gang called W.D.G.R., which stands for When Disco Goes Wrong: Högt I Tak, The Machine Soul, and Mindbender admitted that the assault had the sole purpose of delivering some fresh material of their own to be released on the British outlet.
Jokes aside, the “Swedish Fika Sessions” EP marks the strong musical bond existing among the Scandinavian artists and showcases the talent and creativity of the W.D.G.R. bunch. The project presents three outstanding originals and their respective remixes made with love by themselves. Premiered here, Marten ‘Mindbender’ Attling’s take on The Machine Soul’s “Dansa I Rymden”.
If you are familiar with Marten’s sonority, then you know he goes acid whenever he can – and he always can. The original itself comes already seasoned with a good amount of acidity, but Mr Mindbender decided to add even more flavour to the recipe by increasing the dose of his most beloved and characteristic ingredient.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
