We could not have a better release for our special landmark. After all, reviewing and premiering the work of a dear friend is a task we face fondly, even better when published on one of our favourite labels: Veltrán (FREEDL050) is back on his own Kyma Komplex with the “Brilla Fuerte” EP featuring the always spot-on two-original & two-remix combo – the latter made with love by Encanto and Classic Dellas.

Quoting the PR text poorly translated from the original in Spanish, the release “is the pulse of a descent of energy, a spark that seeks its form, where the invisible becomes tangible and the ethereal finds its place in reality” and curiously does not bring a title track – “1000 Voltios” and “Zapping Rhythms” are the names of the parcels.

With successful incursions on U’re Guay, Sinchi, cutting corners, and Kyma itself, Leonardo Ferreira aka Encanto lives up to his moniker and enchants his audiences with a wild-card combination of influences. For his take on “1000 Voltios”, the skilled Brazilian producer stripped the rave and acid aura of the original and came up with an intriguing concoction of soft and deep synth pads topping a nervous and restless base of percussive elements to replace it.
