The refined Parisian imprint Epicure Records finally kicks off its 2025 season of delicacies with a powerful release by Newcastle-based artist Patrick Burge aka Port Manteau. “Titan” develops its prowess through three stunning originals and three blue-chip remixes made with love by none other than Keep Me In The Light, Patricio Diaz, and Vhyce.

For those not so familiar with Patrick’s work, caveat emptor: The man is one of those producers with itchy fingers when in studio. Anything can happen, it will depend on the mood of the day. His House and Techno output suddenly gets more Progressive and 80s-infused, resulting in an alluring signature sonority. Well-received publications on Dischi Autunno, Saint Vaast, Toolroom, 10 Steps North, and Kitsch will give some north for those interested in exploring his catalogue.

Premiered here, “Mugshot” is a fangy 128-BPM peak-time beast that perfectly combines melodic and progressive elements to deliver a deep Trance-soaked dance-floor experience. Alternating trippy and euphoric moments, “Muggie” is one of the highlights of the feast and is just a sample of the promising year ahead of both Port Manteau and Epicure.
