When it comes to promoting the work of Latino talents, U’re Guay Records is second to none. With a diverse roster that presents not only seasoned and established but also young and rising artists, the Montevideo-based label has already secured its spot amid the most interesting multi-genre imprints of South America. From House to Techno, Trance to Indie Dance, its vast catalogue is undoubtedly worth perusing.
For its sixtieth act, the outlet opens its doors to JNDR and Playing Alongg, two skilled Brazilian producers hailing from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais state. This “joint venture” EP comes with two hot originals by each artist and two lively remixes. The fun fact is: One remixing each other. Something kind of unusual, isn’t it?
The track we were solicited to premiere/review, one of the originals, is a 128-BPM minimalistic beast. JNDR’s “Photo Dump” comes packed with a non-stop percussive loop interrupted only for a brief wake-up-from-the-trance vocal stab. A theme that goes back to the beginnings of Techno: Raw and rough, devoted to making you dance like a robot on acid. Good times!
