Managed by Enrico & Francisco, the masterminds behind the Italian duo Hola Estrella, My Secret Agenda has been slowly & steadily carving its name among the most interesting labels of the so-called Nu Disco/Indie Dance scene. The outlet brings to life the fifteenth episode of its journey featuring none other than Philippe Zarif aka Boshoco. The rising Syria-Born, Lebanon-based artist, with his “sometimes dark, sometimes bright” sonority, has already been published on other respected imprints such as Sinchi and Alt Orient.
For his debut on MSA, the Syrian virtuoso brought his previously released on Alt Orient “Dunyazad” to the dance floor. If the original, made in collaboration with the oud player Omar Alakabani, is a psychedelic orient-infused cut, it comes now packed with club vibes presented in two versions: one by Boshoco himself and another by the label bosses. Premiered here, the former.
Named after the younger sister of Queen Scheherazade from “One Thousand and One Nights”, “Dunyazad” is now a stunning and upbeat theme with rhythmic percussive elements, mesmerising arpeggiated synth layers, sharp FXs, and a mysterious orient aura.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
