The Spanish powerhouse Side Up Works has a new addition to its already vast and eclectic roster: Meet NIKMIND, a skilled US-based Colombian audio engineer, music producer, and DJ whose progressive and trancy sonority has already been published on labels of the likes of Red Eclipse, Artessa, MIR MUSIC, Shyft, and Toxic Astronaut, just to name a few. For “Not My Era”, his debut EP on SUW, NIK handed over three well-constructed originals while Ludviq, JG Outsider (FREEDL052), and MøønkiZa (the joint Techno project from South American artists Ninemøøns and MankiZa) jumped in hard for the remix duties.

“Future Present”, the track we were solicited to review/premiere, develops its peak-time-beast magic through a psychedelic and trippy aura. Featuring sobriety as its main rule, the theme is far from being lifeless and characterless. Don’t be fooled by its steady gait. Caveat emptor: We are facing a fangy one here whose mesmerising bite aims nothing but to create enduring and significant dance floor memories.
