692 // Gelato Feat. This Is Jude – Mystery Star (Man Power’s Half As Long (Twice As Bright) Remix)

Gelato is La Mano & Neil Diablo, and their debut release is coming ice cold on Sound Du Jour with savoury remixes by none other than Jordan Nocturne and Man Power.

Even in winter, who does not like a good and flavourful gelato? The Italian treat receives a small tribute by serving as the name for the new project of La Mano (SXDNS270) and Neil Diablo with a heavyweight debut release coming soon on Sound Du Jour, La Mano’s rising & shining imprint. Counting with the spot-on collaboration of vocalist and live performer This Is Jude, “Mystery Star” comes with two outstanding versions by master Jordan Nocturne and two beautiful remixes from the one & only Man Power.

Gelato’s debut single is “a Nu Disco cut with balmy pads and supple arps coursing through it”, meanwhile the “steamy vocal brings soul and intimacy as the heavy groove locks dancers into a zoned-out reverie of cosmic delight”, as stated in the official PR text.

Having a busy year so far with acclaimed appearances on vital outlets such as Live At Robert Johnson, Rekids, Discolypso, Hypercolour, Inner Shah, and his very own Me Me Me, just to name a few, Man Power held no punches for his debut on Sound Du Jour and came up with two takes on the title track. The one premiered here closes the soirée with the same intensity as its predecessor. Shorter but brighter, as advertised, the final act condenses in its 06.50 the highlights of its 12.37 longer sister. “Plenty of tumbling drums and a rising sense of tension” take over while the lyrics “soar up top next to sustained pads” paired with “infectious claps, sleek synth lines, and a heavenly vocal feel that will bring moments of real emotion to the dance floor.”

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
