Massimo Vanoni, aka Massimo aka The Smoker, is an Italian DJ and Producer whose music style varies among many genres: Nu Disco, Nu Funk, Indie Dance, Classic Disco & Funk, Deep House and House.

During his DJ career, which started in 1985, he amassed many DJ residencies in various Italian clubs, such as Mirabelle, Tam Tam, Casta Diva, Genux, Kiss, Le Cupole, Dehor and Piopinno, to name a few. In the 1990s, he worked at Rete Radio Azzura, where he hosted the programs DJ Music and Azzura Dance Hits.

As a producer, he released solid tracks on many labels such as DJ Movement, Reflex Records, Dig It International, S.O.B., Wicked Rhythm, Crash Records, Atomic Energy Records, under many aliases (Absolution, H.I.R.A., JV Project, Max V., Boss System, Sensoryah and others). He also founded Atop Records and MMMH, both digital labels.

Most recently, he worked in various clubs and events, among which Mazoom-LePlaisir, Kubra, The Track Days Show. He also cooperated with the labels The Groove Society Records, The Groove Phenomena, Sony Music/TGS (Dubai), Indeependence Recordings and Digital Imprint TRAX, Midnight Riot Records, Disco Balls Records, Masterworks Music, Editorial Rec., Hot Digits Music, Midnight Riot and TRJ Records.
