Limpio Records is a vinyl and digital record label, founded in 2019 and based in Frankfurt am Main. Focusing on downtempo, organic and slow techno music, their first release, “Seltene Erden”, is a compilation featuring artists that create new ideas of slow electronic and danceable music between 100 and 108 BPM. Their aim is to bring people, nature, cities and music together in a slow and powerful way through releases that tell a story and are made to bring a different mood to the dance floor.
Inasmuch as Limpio Records is headquartered in Frankfurt, their debut EP bring artists who are based in the “Stadt am Meer”, such as label boss Dan Bay (whose song features lyrics and vocals by Mahmoud, a talented and skilled Iranian refugee), Hendrik Klangrausch, Le Rubrique and The MPC Orchestra, in order to contribute to the growth of the local downtempo scene – which has been growing fast and getting more and more internationally known.
The tune we chose to premiere, “Moscow Mule” by local hero Le Rubrique, is a downtempo track highly influenced by the slow electronic music of the 90s, combined with modern mixing and some disco elements. All the drumming and the atmosphere are rough and based on an MPC groove. It would fit perfectly in a TRON: Legacy-like movie original soundtrack, by the way.
Now, do yourself a favour: Grab ice, vodka, spicy ginger beer and lime juice, prepare a Moscow Mule and sip it slowly, very slowly, while you listen to this beautiful premiere.
Soon you will be able to find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
Follow Le Rubrique & Limpio, peeps!
