061 // Tita’s Edits 004 X Psycho Killer (Ed Dix Edit)

A must-have free download beauty by Ed Dix released on the vital label Belly Dance Services.

We have a different premiere today, peeps! Different not only because this is the first time the beloved label Belly Dance Services – by the almighty duo Hanzo & Yaman (SXDNS065) – lands on our platform, but also because this is the first time we review a free download release. That’s it, you haven’t read it wrongly, today’s post brings a freebie!

Let’s start talking about the gorgeous label bosses, shall we? Besides running the Vienna-Istambul-based imprint, the lads are also the curators of the notable We Tape podcast series and extremely skilled producers, with acclaimed releases, featuring both originals and collaborations, on Tom Tom Disco (FR), Duro (MX) and Nein (UK).

Now it’s about time we talk about the premiered track, isn’t it? After his acidic disco banger “Hybriduntz” on last year’s compilation “Various Worldwide”, released on Belly Dance Services, Kuala Lumpur-based producer Ed Dix returns to the label with a magnificent work for the Tita’s Edits series. The virtuoso artist turned the legendary Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” into an extended dark dance floor tune, focusing on melodic guitar riffs, groovy percussive elements and obscure FXs. Part of the unforgettable vocals is still there, and that will be the moment some distracted fellas will notice the track they are sweating their asses off is actually an interesting interpretation of a rising young talent.

I can’t seem to face up to the facts, I’m tense and nervous and I can’t relax, I can’t sleep, ’cause my bed’s on fire. Don’t touch me! I’m a real live wire!

You can find this and (and buy) other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
