127 // Tronik Youth – Freakscene

You know Espacio CIELO. You know Tronik Youth. That's it!

The rising star Spanish label Espacio Cielo, finely and competently curated by master Parissior, opens its doors to receive the owner of one of the most prolific and acclaimed independent labels in the history of the solar system: Nein Record’s supreme boss Neil Parnell aka Tronik Youth (SXDNS050). In his “Freakscene EP”, Sir Parnell has shown an exquisite taste in creating proper underground electronic music combining Techno, Rave and Disco influences. Both “Freakscene” and “Effing & Jeffing” are two raw and danceable cuts that, accompanied with riveting remixes by Tiempo de Maldad (SXDNS173) and Parissior (SXDNS206), will unavoidably delight the lovers of darker industrial sounds out there.

In the piece we were asked to review, a non-stop groovy and percussive synth layer triggers an almost unbearable craving to dance to it on a packed dance floor as if there were no tomorrow. The industrial-like FXs give the impression you are surrounded by machines that felt the same craving and were brought to life by the intensity of “Freakscene”, whose title was clearly justified by this weird scenario. Kudos, Neil, you did it again!

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
