There are a lot of favourite artists involved in this release, peeps: Rising Turkish producers Günce Aci (SXDNS129) and Fat&Bald (a project run by Ortac Genc) joined forces and delivered two powerful original cuts for the 11th release of the acclaimed label Belly Dance Services, curated by the beloved duo Hanzo & Yaman (SXDNS065). “Being and Nothingness EP” comes also with mighty remixes made with love by two of the most established virtuosos of the so-called Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene: Mexican Theus Mago (SXDNS056) and Guatemalan Fabio Me Llaman Soltero (SXDNS187). We chose the remix by the latter to review/premiere.

Owner of a very peculiar sonority, FMLS has been shaking the world with a lot of talent, charisma, and bathrobes (many bathrobes). His interpretation of the title track comes with an exquisite fusion of Latin and Orient elements, resulting in an extremely intricate version. If the original theme combines Günce’s characteristic dark trippy soundscape with Ortac’s rock-infused melodies, Fabio’s ‘Neoson’ remix can be best described as a beautiful sound mess. Nothing that will surprise his followers; after all, they (we included) are already used to seeing him wreaking havoc in both his performances and productions.
