Barcelona-based Side UP Works has a forthcoming release – its thirteenth, to be more precise –, and it’s an enchanted one, we’d say. Mexican artist Carlos Mendez is the mastermind behind Ademarr, a project devoted to exploring Techno, Indie, and Electro textures deeply rooted between acid and spatial sounds. His “Control” EP casts its spell through four bewitched originals and two spellbound remixes provided with magic and love by Spanish Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Argentinean Ricardo Ruben (SXDNS103).

Talking about Ricardo Ruben, the “hermano” has been on fire this year! His 2021 originals and collaborations can be found on vital Indie Dance/Dark Disco labels such as Logia, Boite Music, Phisica, Playground, and Maleante. His remix of Ademarr’s “Sonos Italic” is total bliss! The task must have been a tough one, inasmuch as the original is a dope peak time banger – but he definitely succeeded to deliver a powerful interpretation, less “dirty” with fewer distortions and less pandemonium when compared to the aforementioned original. Is the remix also a banger? Yes, wholeheartedly! Buy both and be happy! Caveat emptor: Mind the spell!
