Zürich-based producer John Parsley finally releases his first EP of the year: “My Own Owl” marks his debut on mighty Tronik Youth’s NEIN Records with two dark and exquisite cuts in which he proficiently combines cosmic and unearthly elements, resulting in an interesting concoction of textures and sonorities that stands out amid the affluent output of the so-called Indie Dance genre/scene. For the remix duties, John invited none other than Playground Records’ honchos Martin Noise & Kuunde and promising Italian duo Hola Estrella.
If you are familiar with the work of the Barcelona-based Argentinian hermanos, you won’t get startled by the twisted version they delivered. If you aren’t, welcome to the world of Martin Noise (SXDNS143), who has already headlined one of our events in Frankfurt, and Paulino Estela aka Kunde. For this collaboration, they have considerably dropped down the BPM of the title track (from 118 to 100 BPM) and inserted even more percussive elements – the characteristic accent of the inventive Latino artists – in order to deliver a mesmerizing and intelligent interpretation.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
