272 // Tónarunur – Paris From Above

Icelandic producer Tónarunur is back on Citizens Of Vice with a panoramic EP.

Hailing from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, DJ and producer Tónarunur is one of those artists whose sonority is heavily influenced by Disco Music and its various nuances. The result of his output is quite diverse, ranging from laid-back sunny Sunday friendly pieces to wild Saturday night dance-floor-oriented cuts. After appearing on Cala Tarida Musica and Hell Yeah Recordings, he returns to Citizens Of Vice with “From Above”, a delightful Modern Disco EP that represents the season finale of Warren Mann’s imprint.

Besides two upbeat originals, the EP brings two insightful remixes, courtesy of the always fantastic and one of the label’s personal favourites Coyote and skilled Nu Disco don Erik Skantze.

In the track we chose to premiere/review, “Paris From Above”, Tónarunur invokes his Cosmic Disco influences in order to deliver a stunning retro-futuristic theme. Beautiful pads, arpeggiated synth layers, trippy vocals, and a theremin-like lead bring to life a true and remarkable homage to the City of Light.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Juno Download page of the label.
