285 // Neurotiker – 1976 (Back From The Wave Remix)

Brazilian producer Neurotiker lands on Mélopée Records with a solid LP! On the remix duties, none other than Vhyce, Endrik Schroeder, Brandski & Back From The Wave.

The owl strikes again! The respected Lyon-based label Mélopée Records starts 2022 in high style with the release of its first LP. Doing the honours, interesting Brazilian producer Neurotiker who, after appearing on Ulla and Ritmo Fatale, lands on the French platform devoted to revealing that Rio de Janeiro, his hometown, is not only about Funk, Samba and Carnival: The “Cidade Maravilhosa” has also a dark side when it comes to good quality underground music.

The colourful LP brings six super-duper original tracks, through which Marcelo depicts his Cosmic & Italo Disco teamed up with EBM influences, and four essential remixes made with love by a dream team of established Nu Disco/Indie Dance artists: Vhyce, Endrik Schroeder, Brandksi, and Back From The Wave. Premiered here, the latter’s contribution.

Hailing from Paris, Fred Rodrigues aka Back From The Wave has had a busy year: HEARec, Emerald & Doreen, Ritmo Fatale, Ombra International, Critical Monday, and now Mélopée were the imprints on which his work popped up in Earth’s current trip around the Sun.

For his interpretation of Neurotiker’s “1976”, the title track, Fred decided to go more Italo in comparison to the Cosmic Disco/Hi-NRG-infused atmosphere of the original, ripping off a good deal of the robotic vocals and focusing on a more upbeat synth layer as the main element of his remix, resulting in a proper peak time piece.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
