“As The Crow Flies” is the name of the forthcoming & third EP of the year of the seminal Citizens Of Vice. Doing the honours, legendary Balearic kingpin Coyote, who cooked two delicious originals and invited none other than Chris Coco and Secret Soul Society for the remix duties. The French label, as always, spared no efforts to deliver another release with its characteristic Disco-meets-House-meets-Soulful-meets-Balearic-meets-Downtempo-meets-Mojito sonority.
Premiered here, the beautiful interpretation DJ, producer, broadcaster, journalist, and musician Chris Coco did of the title track. With an impressive string of releases on vital labels such as Hell Yeah Recordings, Music For Dreams, Café Del Mar Music, Faze Action Records, eclectics, Paloma, and his very own imprints, DSPPR and Chris Coco Music, the London-based artist needs no introduction amid the Disco-meets-House-meets-Soulful-meets-Balearic-meets-Downtempo-meets-Mojito community.
In his version of “As The Crow Flies”, he kept the main elements of the original but made it less Disco-ish, turning Coyote’s work into a trippier and more atmospheric theme. Yes, still a track to be danced to, but with more behaved and contained moves, we’d say.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Juno Download page of the label.
