DVS NME is a DJ/producer based in Colorado, US. He texted us a few weeks ago asking if we would be interested in reviewing one of the tracks from his latest album. Usually, we do not work with self-released material, but we needed to open an exception for him. The reason: the release is a masterpiece! “A Love Letter To Synthesis”, through its twenty cuts (yes, all originals), represents an ode to the sounds of classic synthesizers/drum machines.

The themes were produced between the middle of 2022 and early 2023 and came out exactly one year after his previous endeavour: “Agitation Propaganda”, another long and enriching journey through his many an influence, but this time featuring twenty-fine gems – yes, again, all originals.

“The album is a tribute to the love affair that I have with making music”, said DVS. “In 2023 I celebrate my 40th birthday so I thought it was good timing to release a concept album that pays homage to the one true love that I’ve ever known.”

Premiered here, “Debt Trap”, with its 132 BPM, develops its message through a frenzied breakbeat bearing, mellow synth riffs, frolic percussive elements, and a staggering, thrilling, and superlative bassline. Kudos!
