Renaissance is a French word that means “rebirth”, now used in English to describe the great revival of art that took place in Italy from about 1400 under the influence of the rediscovery of classical art and culture. In a more modest but still extremely artistic and relevant way, it is also the name of the forthcoming endeavour of the Vilnius/Buenos Aires-based label Quixotical Records: The eight-track compilation brings together both established and rising artists amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Miss Zagato & Aurum Miles, Eliezer, Berny, Cali Burton, Ulises Arrieta (SXDNS193) & Samuel Lupián (SXDNS087), Id!r, Manu Barcelo (SXDNS344), and Innepa spared no efforts to deliver high-level cuts for the release.
Premiered here, Manu Barcelo’s “Pileta Game” comes packed with a fat and robust bassline plus frolic and upbeat synth layers and a dreamy and trippy pad blanket. A House Music lover, Manu expertly managed to combine elements from her favourite genre with the freshest Indie influences she has gathered more recently. The result is simply top-notch!
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
