The Pacific Crest Trail, officially designated as the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, is a long-distance hiking and equestrian trail closely aligned with the highest portion of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, which lie 100 to 150 miles east of the U.S. Pacific coast. Yeah, we googled it! It is also the name of the theme we chose to premiere from Jeremiah Soft’s forthcoming album on the super cool Budapest-based label Dalmata Daniel.
“A Quiver Full of Golden Arrows” (outstanding name by the way) is a nine-track journey created between November 2021 and June 2022, a spell in which Jeremiah got closer to nature and let his sonority get highly influenced by his long walks and moments of inner peace, resulting in a truly immersive experience “up the hills and down the paths of the mind of the artist”.
The last track of the A side of the cassette, “The Pacific Crest Trail” manages to be a soothing and, at the same time, frenzied cut filled with rhythmic percussive elements, emotive synth layers, and deep arpeggios. The cosmic and atmospheric outcome triggers “moments of stillness in the dark with a muffled, dubby soundscape”.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
