Curated by Barcelona-based French artist Agle, Rewind It is an imprint focused on the past. Its output triggers a “nostalgic voyage through the era of silver screens, reel-to-reel tape recorders, and the timeless melodies that continue to resonate in our memories”. A feeling that can be tasted through its still small but growing catalogue which is soon welcoming a new addition: The very first volume of the “A Kind Of Disco” VA series presents four nostalgia-infused cuts made with love by none other than Bottin (SXDNS045), Albion Venables, Rotciv (SXDNS069), and the label honcho himself.
With his spaceship parked in beautiful Stockholm, Sweden, Albion Venables is one of those artists who manages to deliver a refreshing collection of gems highly soaked in Disco Music and its subgenres either via high-quality edits or precious originals.
For his debut on the interesting Rewind It, Albion came up with a stunning space-dust-infused Cosmic Disco beauty brimming with deep synth leads and a melodic throbbing bassline. A combination that evokes memories of a young dinosaur browsing through the then-brand-new records of his older brothers still without realizing Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Moroder would become his future heroes.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
