Montessori needs no introduction amid the Indie Dance/Dark Disco realm. With acclaimed appearances on many of the most vital imprints of the scene such as Roam, NEIN, Nothing Is Real, HEARec, Play Pal Music, Side Up Works, Ombra International, Dogs & Vultures, and his very own Innisfallen Records, just to name a few, his sonority expresses an amalgamation of different genres by seamlessly blending elements from Alternative Rock and Postpunk to New Wave and the post-modern Techno from the Mexican suburb.

For his forthcoming appearance on Innisfallen, he brings to life “Awake”, an EP that “represents different creative stages” of his career by delivering opposite sensations “intertwined through a sound evolution that spans time”, according to the original PR text. And it goes on: “In four original tracks, Montessori offers us a versatile and energetic interpretation of genres such as House, Electro, and EBM, achieving a sound design that captures the essence of each style.”

Premiered here, the beautiful “Rotundo” might come packed with the same amount of darkness as its siblings, but with a deeper emotive aura perfectly paired with a kind of menacing bearing. The fantastic bassline and the speech-like vocals are simply mesmerising while the bouncing percussive elements bring the right amount of groove to the compelling theme.
