909 // Crystal Voyager – Ballad Of Your Soul

Crystal Voyager's brand-new album on New Human Music would be a perfect OST for a Cyberpunk movie! Denis Villeneuve, check this out, will you?

Coming soon on the Texas-based imprint New Human Music, Crystal Voyager’s Dream Drifter delivers a shimmering Cosmic‑Disco‑meets‑80s‑Synthpop affair. For Ellie Bostwick, the mastermind behind the moniker, “every human experiences heartache and longing – ‘Dream Drifter’ was my way through.” She pours those feelings into nine tracks, nodding to Spacer Woman and The Human League without losing her own voice. The album rides a steady groove under soft synth layers, never rushing or dragging. A good, honest set of tunes for when you want to feel something and still move your shoulders. Warm electronics, a touch of melancholy, and a pulse that keeps the head moving.

Premiered here, “Ballad of Your Soul” unfolds at a slow, comfortable clip – around 80 BPM, a pace that gives every word room to land. A throbbing bassline carries the track, warm and gentle, never pushy. Ellie sings from the chest, her voice floating above beautiful synth layers and soft pads that wrap around like a blanket. The whole thing feels intimate, as if written alone in a room and then shared without hesitation. A heartfelt piece that trusts the vocals to lead. The production stays open and airy, letting the emotion speak without clutter. A tender, assured centrepiece for an album that wears its emotions openly.

You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
