Emerging Mexican producer Die Jungle is making waves as an up and coming artist. Hailing from Guadalajara, his techno is infused with Latin flair. He is known for his slowed driving beats that are fluctuated with intricate and melodic elements, often driven along by smooth basslines, which infuse this sort of Dark Disco/Techno style.
His new EP Trouble is being released on the label Phisica, owned by Illusive Man. Looking to provide that new Mexican sound, they are pioneering an ambiguous sound that is not exactly easy to pigeonhole. They are looking for tracks with energy, deep beats, but with a lot of soul, which is encapsulated by this latest release.
The penultimate track, ‘Mustang’ – chosen to be premiered on our platform –, is escorted by this devilish riff of a bassline, that is akin to an intro to a heavy rock song, and topped with complex FX textures, similar to the ones found in modern sci-fi horror movies. The jazzy Birdman-like percussive layer adds the last but not least exotic ingredient in this primordial tune.
This peculiar combination of so disparate elements makes you wonder how such a young artist successfully managed to fuse them into this enticing amalgamation of weirdness. This just proves that Die Jungle is doubtlessly a talent to watch.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
