ANIMAM (SXDNS083) is another promising Mexican producer whose last releases have been very well received amid the Dark Disco/Indie Dance community. Flirting with his acid and techno influences, his forthcoming EP will be out soon on Veneno, a Mexico City label that has been pushing the local scene since the last year, and will include two originals and three remixes provided by Cautiverio, LaTech and RedDeviil. According to ANIMAM, “The EP is full of different textures, trance, acid, techno, drums, even hypnotic sounds that can be enjoyed in the different tracks. I really loved the results”.
And he is right. The high quality of the remixes is something we cannot fail to mention. The trio of collaborators delivered powerful versions that enhanced the calibre of the release. To premiere, we chose the one made by David Zárate and Edgar Armendáriz aka LaTech, a project that started 5 years ago in Oaxaca de Juárez and has become a reference in their hometown’s scene.
Influenced by the cultural richness of their neighbourhood combined with House and Techno elements, the lads came up with an interesting interpretation of the title track: Trippy synth leads, menacing pads, broken beats riffs establish the mood of their “Glytch”.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
