Supported by acclaimed artists such as Jennifer Cardini, Curses, Pete Herbert, Gene Farris, Jerry Bouthier, Severino Panzetta, and Mano Le Tough, just to name a few, the next release of the Barcelona-based label Paradise Children features the respected and innovative Russian duo Radial Gaze. Having already released on vital labels – Eskimo, Calypso, Hold Your Ground, Esthétique, Nein, Hard Fist, and Belly Dance Services –, the partnership between Andrey & Stas delivers this time a six-track EP, consisting in two originals and enlisting a slew of talents for remix duties: Toulouse Low Trax, La Mverte, Tim Paris, and Hanzo & Yaman (SXDNS065).

Despite the immense quality of the remixes, we opted for premiering one of the originals: “Fugu Taste” properly showcases the signature sonority of the St Petersburg brothers. The theme, devoted to making you lose yourself to dance – despite the darkness of the times –, does not fail to bring you that everything-is-going-to-be-alright feeling that only music can provide. Even with its ominous atmosphere, the vibrant orient-influenced synth layer of the track supplies an upbeat and cheerful mood. Another mission accomplished by the comrades.
