Hoochie Coochie Papa simply cannot get enough of Disco – of any kind… of any time. His solid string of releases on vital platforms such as Golden Soul and Emerald & Doreen has shown how Disco Music has strongly influenced his sonority. Based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Hoochie lands for the first time on Paulista imprint LoveDogs with “Knight Rider”, an interesting EP featuring two crusty originals and two fat remixes provided by André Rech and the label owners themselves, the respected duo TouchTalk.

Despite the high quality of the remixes, we decided to premiere/review one of the originals because we wanted to immerse into Hoochie’s work without the “interference” of a collaborator. “Attitude”, the chosen one, is that kind of track that expresses the true essence of the so-called Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene: Its intensity and moxie, provided by nervously arpeggiated synth leads and layers paired with a lively bassline plus lots of rhythmic claps and snares, deliver a modern piece infused with a notable retro atmosphere.
