When it comes to good quality underground electronic music, Mexico is definitely amid the most prolific powerhouses in the world. Young and promising artists, solid labels and platforms, and a robust network mainly with South American and European DJs and producers help to understand why Mexico has been delivering so much interesting content for the last years – and it is showing no signs of slowing down.
Among the aforementioned young and promising artists is Addi De La Cruz aka Umvral (FREEDL018). With originals and collaborations released on important local and international labels such as Controlla, Emerald & Doreen, Logia, Quixotical, and his very own Veneno, Addi has been slowly carving his name as a vital artist in the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene.
His forthcoming single on Veneno, “Trépale”, brings fat remixes by Kitschy Kitsch (SXDNS078), Miguel De Bois, and Favio Inker. The latter’s contribution is the one we chose to premiere, by the way: The Argentinian virtuoso delivered an extremely energetic interpretation of the original, seamlessly fusing his characteristic acid & rock sonority with Umvral’s Tech-Mex concoction. The result is a dance floor banger, peeps!
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Beatport page of the label.
