Featuring two massive remixes by Tronik Youth (SXDNS050) and MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), acclaimed Belfast-based producer and promoter Steve Boyd aka Cyence is back to Nein Records with “Drone Wars”, a dark disco-infused trip through the most obscure influences of the veteran artist whose previous releases can be found on vital Indie Dance labels, such as Roam, Sincopat, Correspondant, and Critical Monday.
Premiered here, Tronik Youth’s beautiful interpretation of “Breakout” is definitely one of the highlights of the EP. Inspired by the old school rave-like atmosphere of the original, the label boss decided to boost such atmosphere by inserting percussive elements, arpeggiated synth layers, siren riffs, and acid leads, providing a piece rather different from his latest works but still with the characteristic darkness of Tronik’s sonority. Versatility at its best here, peeps!
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
