Let’s support this, shall we? Buenos Aires-based platform Slow Cycle presents the first release of its label segment. Doing the honours, Argentinian born, but currently residing in Mexico artist Cali Burton, whose previous works on Espacio Cielo, Logia, and Coquelicot turned the young producer into an “artist to watch” amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. “Sine Qua Non” is made up of two well-constructed originals and three interesting remixes made with love by Alex Aguayo (FREEDL038 as Mahkina), Bonnie Spacey and Favio Inker, one of the Slow Cycle’s bosses.

Premiered here, Bonnie Spacey’s take of “Feeling”. The French artist, founder of the respected imprint Critical Monday, turned the original into a more embodied piece. The playful synth layer is still there, but the soothing aura brought by the vocals vanished, being replaced by a more ominous and, yes, dark atmosphere.

The excellent mastering made by our dear friend Ricardo Ruben (SXDNS103) cannot go unmentioned.
