Named after either a land famous for the abundance of its peach production or the district municipality in the Okanagan Valley on the west side of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada, or his very own imaginary haven, “Peachland” is “one of the most awaited albums of the MM Saturns saga”, according to the curators of the label themselves. The reason: They have been working on this record for almost 3 years, and the result is a stunning collection of eight remarkable originals made with love and New-Wave-nostalgia by skilled British producer Corben.
Available in both digital and vinyl formats, “Peachland” fails big time in disappointing. With an impeccable production technique and sharp creativity, Corben delivers an accurate “cybernetic vision of the ’80s subculture” filled with “contagious vocoders and hypnotic synthesizers”.
Premiered here, “Precious” lives up to its name. What a gem! The Balearic cosmic atmosphere, established from its very beginning, is simply mesmerising. Emotive synth pads and deep psychedelic chords set the scene for the melodic vocoded lyrics, sung by Corben himself, culminating in a modern retro-infused experience.
You can find (and buy) this and other music pearls on the Bandcamp page of the label.
